THE HAYWIRE STORY
The HAYWIRE BAND was founded in 2018 by vocal dynamo front woman, SHONNA BONDS, Haywire came together as a creative outlet for this group of versatile singers and musicians. All the band members love “rawkin” current country music, pop and classic rock and roll music. They discovered very few bands who can put it all together and so Haywire was born.
SHONNA BONDS, a native of Decatur, IL, is a multitalented entertainer. Early on, SHONNA developed a strong passion for country music. She began singing and performing country music at age 5, and eventually gained inspiration from superstar performers like Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, and Celine Dion. SHONNA has toured nationally and internationally, performing for major corporations including Microsoft, Coca Cola, The Dallas Cowboys, and even performed for Mr. and Mrs. President George W. Bush. The excitement doesn't stop there, with Shonna has opened for countless acts including The Beach Boys, Rick Springfield, Third Eye Blind, Kool and the Gang, performed at the wedding of Toby Keith's daughter, and the 50th birthday bash for Toby Keith's wife. SHONNA's career skyrocketed and she made an enormous influence on the Texas entertainment industry. She gained great respect and an extensive fan base, but she didn't stop there.
In 2013, SHONNA joined the cast of the Pierce Arrow Theater in Branson, MO. During her first year in Branson, she recorded two hit CD's, and quickly earned a reputation for being a "cross between Whitney Houston and Carrie Underwood." Moving back to Dallas in 2017 when the Haywire Band came together. In 2019 SHONNA joined new Country Artists “Vaudevylle” and continues to work with them and Haywire when “Vaudevylle” is not touring.
BONDS is joined up front by JASON ASHLEY who was awarded a “Terry Award” in 2009 for songwriter of the year, for his self-penned “Handle With Care,” off of his debut CD. “Coming Up Clean.” ASHLEY says “I feel that every song will leave it's own special mark….I hope it moves you enough so that you feel it.” His moist recent project “Undenialble” is out now.All of the band members work with their own original music projects yet they come together to play the music that has influenced them all throughout their careers.ASHLEY puts it best:We have learned three important things:
- What it really means to be a compassionate human being.
- That it isn’t our bank accounts that make us important.
- The only deposit worth leaving is the legacy we deposit into future generations.Haywire believes that music is the most powerful platform from which they can speak.
They are living that platform every day and as we all go through tough time and look to come out on the other side, Haywire hopes their music and musician ship will make your world a little bit better!
